How To make Vegan Mediterranean Hummus Flatbread Ingredients
1. Prepare the Hummus:
In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, sun-dried tomatoes, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, basil puree, chickpea water, sea salt, roasted garlic powder, and granulated garlic.
Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.
2. Prepare the Flatbread:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Dust a clean work surface with a bit of flour.
- Roll out the pizza dough ball to your desired thickness, aiming for a round or oval shape.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
Place the flatbread into the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes. This is just to let the dough begin to rise. You will remove it and rebake it with the toppings in a moment.
3. Prepare The Toppings:
While waiting for the flatbread to rise in the oven, pan-fry the bell peppers with the tomatoes for 1 minute, until the tomatoes are about to burst.
Remove peppers and tomatoes from heat.
Once the flatbread has risen slightly, remove it from the oven.
- Spread a generous layer of the housemade hummus over the rolled-out dough.
- Evenly distribute the sliced kalamata olives, halved grape tomatoes, and sliced mini bell peppers over the hummus.
- Sprinkle the crumbled vegan feta on top.
- Finish with a sprinkle of za’atar seasoning.
4. Bake the Flatbread:
Return the flatbread to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy, and the toppings are slightly roasted.
5. Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the flatbread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Drizzle with balsamic reduction.
6. Enjoy: Slice the flatbread and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Vegan Mediterranean Hummus Flatbread with friends or family!
This easy and flavorful flatbread is perfect for any occasion and is sure to be a hit. Enjoy!
